Poyzo is an independent website that compares what money buys in eight cities: Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, London, Istanbul, Dubai, Miami and New York. We cover two things people weigh before a move or a purchase abroad, property and cars, and the running costs that come with them.
Why Poyzo exists
Price comparisons between cities are usually quoted without their definitions. A price per square metre can mean gross or net area, asking or sold price, city centre or metro area. A “yield” can be gross or net. A car price can include or exclude registration taxes. The same city can look cheap or expensive depending on which definition is used. Poyzo exists to put those numbers side by side with the definitions stated, so a reader can see what is actually being compared.
What you will find here
- Budget calculator — enter a budget in EUR, USD, GBP, TRY or AED and see roughly how many square metres or how many average new cars it represents in each city.
- City guides — property and car cost pages for each of the eight cities, available from the Property and Cars menus.
- Comparisons — side-by-side articles such as Berlin vs Amsterdam and Istanbul vs Dubai.
- Guides — explanations of how costs are structured: purchase taxes, net yield, currency risk, depreciation, insurance pricing and more.
How we work
Poyzo is a small, independent publication. Figures come from publicly available sources such as national statistics offices, the EU Commission Weekly Oil Bulletin, manufacturer list prices and widely used cost-of-living databases, and each page lists the sources it relies on. City averages are rounded and are meant to show the order of magnitude, not to value a specific property or vehicle. Where sources disagree, we give a range rather than a single number.
Every page shows a “Last updated” date. When a figure changes materially, we update the page and the date.
Independence
Poyzo does not sell property, vehicles, mortgages or any financial product, and does not accept payment to feature a city, developer or dealer. The site is funded by display advertising, which is clearly separated from editorial content.
Not advice
Everything on Poyzo is general information. It is not financial, tax, legal or immigration advice. Rules and prices change, so confirm anything that affects a decision with the relevant authority or a qualified professional in the country concerned.
Corrections and contact
If you spot a figure that is out of date or wrong, please tell us at info@poyzo.com or through the contact page. Corrections are read first.
